Default "service in 600 miles" every time I start the car?

I thought the display was suppose to count down? I just bought the car (w/ 10K miles on the ODO) Its not a big deal to me to take it and have it serviced (though one would THINK that the dealer would have done this as part of the pre sale prep!) Is there something I'm missing here? why has the "miles to service" remained at EXACTLY 600 miles, while I've driven it like 200 miles? Any thoughts?

Thanks!
Rian

Default In the manual there are instructions for resetting that...

Is it a 2001 or a 2000?

Default Mine counts down...

It started at "1000 miles" a few weeks ago, and now it's at "200 miles".

Default saw that but...

It's a 2000, I saw the instructions for use, and for reset, but mine just stays at the same place! and as it is a new car, I have NO idea when the last service was. I suppose I could call the dealer and give them the VIN. Would Audi have a record of maintenance by VIN?

Default If you bought it from a dealer....

they probably know what service was performed on the car.

It should reset through the method specified in the manual. If not, complain to the dealer and have them fix it.

Default It depends how you drive the car...

Intelligent service indicator. My S4 said "service in 600 miles" for about 2 weeks when I was around 11000mi. Look in your service book to see when the last service was performed, that is if the book has been kept up.
BTW, where in CO did you get you car?

Default I would, but dealer is 2K miles from me!

I'm in Colorado, the dealer is in BOSTON!
Hopefully a dealer here in CO. will head me in the right direction

thanks!
