Default $40,000 rattle machine?!

I now have 2k miles on my '00 S4, and the rattles have come out to play. Of particular concern to me is a "warbling" sound about 1800-3000 rpm, more noticeable when off-throttle slowing down. Definitely from the engine bay. Anyone else have this? Also, how have your particular dealers been in eliminating squeaks/rattles? I have four noticeable ones in the car now, driving me nuts!<p>Robert

Default My dealers suck!

Tried twice now to fix my creaks in headliner and C pillar. First time, no fix, sprayed oil/gel all over my leather -- everywhere! Second time, still no fix, now my rear door doesn't close right, they are ordering me a new panel to arrive in 3 weeks. Argh. They claim this will help, time will tell, but thus far not pleased!

Default no rattles - some engine harmonics

The interior is very tight. i do have some engine/exhaust/turbo plumbing harmonics that I'm less than fond of. in all due respect, my dealer warned me of these before I bought the car.

Default yes. structural rigidity not up to par.

While the body doesn't flex as bad as a Fiat convertible (drive one over a RR crossing sometime) it is not nearly at rigid as other German cars (there, I didn't use the 'b' word).

I think this lack of rigidity accounts for many of the squeaks and rattles heard while driving over bumps.

No problems of any kind! Best new car ever--and have had over a dozen different models.

Default Leslie: if dealer can't hack... whine 'em into let you take it to...

Precision Body and Paint. I just got my baby back and it looks/feels like brandy-new again.
