Default $410 Speeding ticket!!! ****ing **** . . . nevada sucks!

Oh just a measly 97 in a 65, but hey...it beats the ticket i would have gotten considering i was doing a buck-20 for over 400 miles. Damnit...off to traffic school i go.

In Virginia you'd get jail time for that! 1 day for each MPH over 90!

Default A little story about speeding tickets.

We will start with me..

165 mph on 805 in San Diego Ca.

3am.

CHP got me with Radar from bridge.

Took 7 miles flat out in a Mustang HO to catch me. Lucky I slowed down

I did not realize I was busted until he flipped the lights on 7 miles away from the bridge. I saw this car come up on me at about 150 mph. I though what the hell.. And then bingo lights..

Result:

Car impounded.
Tinted window ticket.
an argument.
Matching bracelets.
Jail
Had to pay my own bond
ect, ect....

I have never done this kind of thing since

I was doing an article for Car and Driver on the fastest recorded time from San Diego to PhX Az. This was my second atempt. I have the official record for my route with the first time. But after learning a shortcut that would shave another 15 minutes off I had to try again. The first time I ran WOT the entire way without getting a single ticket.

My official time:

411 miles in 3 hours 42 minutes. From downtown San diego to the deck park tunnel in PHZ Az.

This included 3 stops for fuel. The stops where made as fast as I could.

I burned up an almost brand new set of Dunlops in 411 miles. I had cords showing on the fronts. and blisters on the back. I had to purchase a new set before I could drive home.

5th gear from that day forward had a slight whine to it. I maintained 6000 rpm in 5th gear for most the time.

I know.. I know... I was a little younger and stupid... I do not do things like this anymore. I was in a safe car and it all my driving was done at night. Due to the time of the year there was very little traffic. I was not the only one in the game either. Several other people tried but did not get the time I did.

Looking back on this I realize exactly how dangerous it was. Its funny how a few years can change a persons views on subjects like this. I know go to the race track to speed. That way if I crash I hopefully will not kill someone.
