Default $hit! got my first speeding ticket for 82 in a 55 on I-270 in MD...
The ticket was $140 and I asked the cop how many points and he said 2 and he used a laser device, so I'm screwed. Do I have any chance if I go to court since this is my first speeding ticket and I have no other tickets whatsoever? How badly will 2 points affect my insurance premium? I use geico. Anyone in MD have any experience to share?

I got my first ticket for 2 points a couple years ago and my ins. went up $200 w/AAA.

Go to court and hopefully since it is your first you can get it knocked down.

Default I just got one for 80 in a 55....
the SHERIFF made it for 75...nice guy...if they only knew that 80 in an S4 is a safe cruising speed. Good luck...sucks though doesn't it?

Default This cop had no mercy...when I told him I didn't think I was going that fast, he just said if I
didn't sign, I could go to jail...sucks!

In Mass, 7% insurance surcharge for 6 years = $600 plus the fine...Yikes!
