One of my biggest complaints about my RX-7 was that I felt like I was always out-driving my headlights. Also, there were some roads I was on that were completely dark, with no oncoming traffic, and my headlights still didn't do a good job.
I haven't thought that for one second with the S4! And I think I have turned my brights on once in 6 months in this car, which is my biggest complaint about other drivers. The high beams are supposed to shine straight ahead, which is partly why the low beams are ineffective. The HIDs just light up everything without lighting up much above the level of most license plates.

Remember when rock and roll was considered to be 'devil's music'? Whatever.
Although I agree that there are people out there that have problems with oncoming lights while driving at night, instant migraines? I'm having trouble buying into that.
Writers will find a subject and collect information to support their argument, (no matter how small a cross section of study subjects) and complete their article in what ever light they set out to publish.
Next we'll be seeing this on those sensationalist evening news magazine shows.

<i>"The report notes that tungsten-halogens also do a better job:
Than some HIDs illuminating distant pedestrians and markings on the
right side of the road.
Than HIDs illuminating distant, overhead signs and signs on the left
shoulder at all distances. "
</i>
hmmm, halogens light up signs up and to the left......in an area similar to.... ONCOMING TRAFFIC????
I see a lot more non-HID lights aimed up at oncoming traffic, and that's much more dangerous. If you're stupid enough to be distracted by "ooohh, pretty lights", then hey, it's called Darwinism.

"It's just like looking a cleveage. You don't stare at it, you just take a glance and then look away."
What kind of idiot would stare at an oncoming light. I'd bet if you stare at a halogen you'd probably be blinded for a while too.
