Default 1999 911s.......

How much hp and torque did they have. It is the first year run on the watercooled and I am guessing 295hp and around 270ish torque. A buddy of mine got a yellow one with 23k miles for 52k. it has 18 inch rims and gts aero kit. with some yellow stiching. My other question is if I was stupid enought to race him, straight line of course, how badly would he rape me. I have apr v5 and milltek superdual. I don't think I have a chance in hell from any speed.

It would probably be pretty close in a straight line, they're 300 HP IIRC.

Um, I don't think he would rape you at all. Maybe I am missing something? :/

Default You'd murder him from a roll...

And from a standing start, it'll be decided by driver.

Why would the S4 murder it from a roll, but not a standing start???

Default in a straight line (which is NOT the point of the 911) you'll probably beat him.

Especially if there's a launch involved.

Weight, harder to launch an AWD car, etc.

Default just speaking from experience but I'm guessing it's gearing and torque issues...

It's generally worked that way when I've run my 996s against friends S4s. However if you're willing to rev the 996 tehn you've got a chance. If the roll starts at 50MPH and the 996 is in 3rd then it'll get eaten. But if you're in 2nd then the 996 stands a chance.

I disagree that it is harder to launch an AWD car, but the 911 does weigh less.
