Default 2.7T maintenance / reliability

Having never owned a turbo, what kind of maintenance / reliability can expect out of the stock 2.7T engine.

At what mileage point do they typically have problems.

Also, are you supposed to let the engine cool down before turing it off after a typical drive.
Thanks for any info.

Default Re: 2.7T maintenance / reliability

While I've never had an Audi turbo (my S4 is on order), I've had 4 different turbo cars over 20 years (3 SAABS plus RX7). Never had a turbo problem, and two of the SAABS had over 100K miles when sold, the others at least 50K. All I did was change the oil at 3K intervals, and let the car idle before shutdown only after spirited driving. FYI, all cars were kept stock but autocrossed frequently.
I'm not planning to do anything differently when my S4 arrives. Relax and Enjoy!<p>You can get anywhere in 10 minutes if you drive fast enough.
