2000 s4 aftermarket warranty help
My 2000 S4 is going to be out of warrranty in 2 weeks. i want to get an aftermarket warranty. i live in CA so many online warrantys aren't available. Does anyone have experience with factory extended warranty(i believe its chaning name to audi pure protection). seems like it might be the least hassle when filing claims and getting work done. are there any gaps in what they cover? any advice would be most appreciated.

Don't assume most extended warranties are not available in CA (more good info inside)
The law is that they can not sell directly to you. But because there are a helluva lot of customers in CA for extended warranties, most warranty companies work with dealers in the state.
So they sell the warranty to the dealer, and dealer sells it to you. Sometimes you can even get a decent used car shop (oxymoron?) or your mechanic to buy it and then resell it to you for $100 profit. Check with warranty company in question.
Also, repeat after me, you are 30 DAYS AND 1K MILES AWAY FROM THE END OF YOUR FACTORY WARRANTY. That's where you need to be to get the good coverage called "exclusionary".
BONUS: I called www.autowarrantybroker.com, the company I bought mine from, and they said if you have a friend or relative in another state, buy the warranty using that address, then wait a month and tell them you just moved to CA and give them your CA address. They can't cancel coverage, they just can't issue it new in CA. Anyone wanna make a fast buck renting out their address? Bueller?
Finally, while you have no worries buying an Audi extended warranty with them going out of business or beign shady, you are potentially limited in two ways: 1. You can only go to an Audi dealer 2. They might deny coverage if you mod your car, where an independent mechanic will not look to get a claim denied.

I bot Warrantech thru an Audi dealer. Sold by many other CA dealers. Call around for plans/quotes.
No claims in my first 7 months but no negative AW feedback either. $2399 for 72/100k, 0 deduct on a 00 2.7T.
