2001 S4 vs. 2000 S4
Guys, I'm planning on buying an S4 very soon (could be today), but I would like to know if there are going to be any major changes worth waiting for for 2001.

Re: 2001 S4 vs. 2000 S4
I'm new to these boards, but I have done some research on this car. I'm thinking about getting one soon....I just can't find one with the right color combos that I want.
Anyway, the 2001 which is due ~Sept will have the following changes:
Traction control
Chrome SV mirrors
extension of warranty by 1 year
+ ~$1k in MSRP
Is it worth it to wait? Hell no, if you can find a 2000 with what you want, b/c you can bargin down to a few $k below sticker for em. I personally think Audi added traction conrol only to appease ignorant buyers who know nothing about quattro stability and traction. Sure it will make a diffreence for the inexperienced driver, but I wouldn't pay extra for it.

huh...I guess my dealer had no clue....
about what he was talking about. We had a long conversation about ESP, and how it was Audi's version of traction control or DSP. I didn't know it is yaw control, thanks. I'm not sure its worth an extra grand though....<p>s99

Of course it's worth it. AWD usually has....(more)
understeer behaviour. Think about it, ESP corrects understeer/oversteer, which will in term put the car in neutral behavior longer then usually......to me, I think it's worth the price increase.....SAFETY FIRST...

Only if you don't put a lot of miles on your car.
I've never put less than 16,000/yr. on a car and currently put 19,000/yr., so the warranty would do zilcho for me, but I still think it's more appropriate to have a 4yr/50,000 warranty.
