About a year ago I made the mistake of taking my 2000 S4 to local tire dealer on a Saturday. I thought it was just a blown hose. he told me it was overflow tank. He replaced and I got it back and it still overheated. He then told me that an outlet on heater core had a crack in it. ( My regular mechanic told me he probably cracked it when replacing the tank.) I was sucked own that road and I had him replace the heater core. Since then when running without air or heat I have hot air blowing on my feet and knee on drivers side. My regular mechanic says they didn't get the blendors back in right position. Comments welcomed. I can get tire dealer to do it again they have a warrunty, I'm not sure I trust them to do it without some input. any advice appreciated. thanks

That's a tough one Mark. I would see if you can scan your car for any VAG error codes, and see if they give you any clues.
I noticed recently that my car has this code:
I have yet to play with this and fix it. I know there are a lot of small sensors in the duct work, I think they all play a part in the blenders routing and temperature control. I figured I must of had one of those small black temp sensor wires come undone or something.
I've only had my car for about 8 months, and in that short amount of time I have learned the value of working on my car myself. These cars are plain and simply a bitch to work on. Many shops will take shortcuts to get them done faster. Or they just don't know what they're doing.
The first time I worked on my car, I had a grocery list of pieces, parts, and bolts missing. I made a list, tracked down all the missing stuff, and put it all back together correctly. Hell, I even had the wrong water pump installed on my S4.
I guess you could take them up on their warranty offer. Otherwise, try to find a reputable shop that has experience with these cars. I'm assuming you spent a pretty penny having him change the heater core out, so I guess it's worth a shot having them try to figure out what they did wrong.....
