Is 94 octane that is ethanol enhanced not as good as a straight 94 octane fuel?

Is 94 octane that is ethanol enhanced not as good as a straight 94 octane fuel?

Just wondering, we can get 91 octane here and the 94 is ethanol enhanced. I'm running an APR 93 octane program and wondering if the 94 octane with ethanol is not good enough or reducing the maximum output that the engine is capable of.

I figured, the ethanol does make it worse than straight 94.

Enough that I shouldn't run the 93 program?

We had both here in the past and there was no difference in VAGCOM on the g/s ...

So technically, I have seen no difference.

Don't forget that the magic of the "94" is not that it is more "powerful" or gives more "energy" ; it handles more compression without auto-igniting, that's all.
