about how much $$ does it take to get a B5 S4 to around 500 bhp?

taking into account parts, install, and tuning... just a rough estimate..

lease is coming up soon and im weighing out my options for the future

Of the shelf it will cost you 5 figures. Go the homebrew route and you can probably do it for 7k-8k

labor is cheap in Cali but you're looking at $7000-8000 in parts , as for labor ...

for a job like this you'll pay some where from $2500-$5000.

People should note however that you won't get 500hp on pump...

You'll need 100 octane for that, unless I guess you live on the east coast. Us CA guys get focked with the 91

Rough estimate of parts:

You'll need these:

clutch
downpipes
exhaust
software
brake kit to match HP
suspension to match HP

turbo kit (many different options) anwyere from 4-8k, or more for custom setup.

Plan to do it yourself? You can save a ton of money that way, or pay $2k for just the turbo install then add on the other parts...get's pricey quick. Between a few friends we've saved somewhere around 15k just on doing our own installs.
