Default ABS Problems!!

The ABS kicks in on my 2001 S4. The ABS Light nor the ESP lights come on though. If I take the ABS fuse out, the brakes work fine. Does anyone have any experience with this? I've seen alot of posts about the module going bad, but they all mention warning beeps and the ABS lihjy coming on. The red BRAKE light does occasionally come on for no apparent reason, even with the fuse out. I don't really want to change the control module if it really isn't the problem...THANKS!

You need to search the archives. Modules failing are not that uncommon. A company called module masters can rebuild it, and I think there is another one you'll run across.

Might be just a bad abs sensor.

We have them available below.

Click HERE to order or for more information.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Try cleaning the ABS sensors before you spend money replacing them. They sometimes become magnetized and attract metal shavings causing them to send incorrect readings to the ABS module.
