the AC's not blowing cold air!

^^^^^^^. Ding ding ding ding. I do it at least once a week. I learned this the hard and expensive
way on my old Jetta (not under warranty) and on my dad's old M3 (thankfully under warranty).

P.S. The reason why, and correct me if I'm wrong, OC Avant, is that if you don't use the AC for a
long time, especially on European cars, the refrigerant will leak out due to something in the A/C system drying out. I'm not really familiar with the specific part that goes FUBAR, but that's what I've been told.

in addition to the things below, another thing it could be is a bad outside air temp sensor.....
Does the temp reflected on your dash (for outside air) match the actual temp?
I had a bad outside air temp sensor. The car thought it was -55F. When that happens, the car will not allow the A/C condensor to turn on.
Try scanning for codes using VAG-COM under the 'Climate Control' section - it may give you some guidance.
