Default ADR wheels - anyone have any experience with this brand? (more inside)

I saw what appears to be a nice set of 18x8 wheels from ADR (model = Battle EXE, look somewhat similar to SSR GT3's - at least to me...) for sale recently on ebay. Company selling them is Aspec Wheels. Anyone here have any experience with either ADR or Aspec? Any comments (+ or -) would be helpful. TIA.

Mike

Default That wheel will not fit your car. They are a low-medium priced wheel company...

Basically copying wheels of other companies, mostly copying the look of Japanese tuner wheels like 5Zigen, etc. If you look, that wheel is mostly 4x100, Honda type wheel.

Default According to the seller's description, these wheels are 5x112 bolt pattern w/ ET = 35...

you think still a no-go on a b5 S4?

Default Take a look here and see all the bolt pattern options...

They might make them in other bolt patterns, but it's not advertised here.

http://www.adrwheels.ca/battleexe.html

Default Assuming that this wheel is available in the 5x112 bolt pattern....

any other issues with ADR to be concerned about (like pre-mature cracking/wheel failure, etc)? I realize these are not likely to be top-notch quality, but as I'd like to upgrade to 18's for summer and will put a very good (i.e.,"strong") summer tire on these, pricing looks real good and my '98 3-series needs major front suspension surgery - so I don't want to break the bank on new shoes for the S4.

Default Never heard of any major hate stories...

I think the wheel that most VW/Audi people have are those M Classic and M Sport wheels, but usually not on the B5 S4 from what I remember.

Are you getting chrome?

Default No chrome - I'm looking at silver spokes w/ silver polished lip...

to me they resemble the SSR GT3's (which I really like, but cannot justify the $$$'s for).

Default Either get the real thing or forget looks and go for a stronger/cheaper wheel...

Get some wheels from Hartmann.

Default I've looked at the Hartmann reps a lot lately...

I know the're a favorite of the Audi community - just not sure I want to spend the $$'s for 'em (yet). Any brand suggestions for stronger, cheaper wheels?? BTW, thanks for all your comments - greatly appreciated.

Mike
