clearance on the Avus rims?
The stock brakes clear the Avus rims pretty good. These Brembo's are definitely larger, but they do fit under the Avus wheels.
In comparing caliper clearance under the Avus wheels between the Stasis Brembo caliper and the Stoptech caliper, it seems like the Stoptech has more clearance than Stasis in reference to the 6 avus "spokes" (so clearance from the front of the wheel to the caliper), but the Stasis has more clearance than the Stoptech in reference to the top of the caliper and inside of the actual wheel (width wise).
I hope that made sense.
Either way, both kits fit fine under stock wheels, so i guess by how much is not of that great importance.

I wouldn't choose brakes based on your wheels...
It's really easy to adjust for a couple MM of clearance by running a spacer.
I run a 5mm spacer at the track (for my track wheels). I only need a 1.5mm spacer to clear the brakes, but I like the widened front track by going with a 5mm spacer.
Any more than 5mm though, and I'd be rubbing pretty bad.
What's the offset on your 19's?

hit by how much though?
If all you need is like a 2mm spacer to clear the brakes, that's not a big deal.
The only concern (with 19s) would be if moving out 2mm will cuase rubbing issues.
But either way, good luck on the brake upgrade.

I have heard some grumblings from the S8 folks ...
In regards to the front brakes, what are your thoughts on the S8 calipers? How do they compare to the stock brakes in terms of pedal feel and stopping power?

Calipers are plenty fine...
the stock S8 front rotors are the problem.
Audi believes that if you add metal, it must stop faster.
But if you ever look, Audi rotors have like 3mm of venting, and 10mm of rotor.
Aftermarket kits go the other way, 8mm of venting and like 5mm of rotor.
The S8 Brembo calipers are very nice.
