Are all the numbers the same. . . (more)
in the part number for an ECU? What I mean is, are there different numbers (like serial numbers)for the same type of ECU box (like every M box having a different listing number), or do all M-boxes have the same code (ending in M) on them? Thanks, hope this isn't too confusing!

the main part number (ending w/ 'M') is always the same.
not sure about the other numbers on the ECU box though.

Be careful here, make sure all numbers of the ECU code match, "M" is used on several different audis
like the A6 and A4. They are not interchangeable either.
All the code numbers must match your S4 ECU
