For all of us non-regular-track people... the S4's brakes freaking rock.
I forgot to post this the day it happened... but last Friday, I was headed home from work at about 6pm. There was definately more traffic than usual (I have no idea why), but it was pretty much 10 feet between each car at about 70 mph.
So there I am, listening to the Matrix sound track when the teal-blue chevy pickup in front of me slams on his brakes and swerves into the shoulder on the left. I'm thinking WTF?! I dig both feet in hard.
As the rear end of the pickup got out of my line of view, I heard the distinctive agonizing sound of one car rear ending another. There was another black pick up in front of the blue one. That dude ramed the Ford Exposition in front of him. I just sat there dumfounded. Glass freakin flew... EVERYWHERE. (I found a piece in my pasenger side seat.. my sunroof was open).
I now realized that the blue pick up was trying to get out of _MY_ way so I wouldn't rear end him. No worries... I had stopped with more than enough room to have kept him between us and still had 5 feet on either side of him.
Thank god the driver behind me acted quickly and was able to change lanes around us.
Yes I realize 10 feet isn't enough room. That's just how traffic was that day. I should have known better and kept more distance, since I couldn't see **** around the pickup (i hate big vehicles on the road). None the less, a little bit of luck and a fine piece of machinery prevented what could have been the start of a really ****ty weekend.
Thanks AG =)

Hmm gotta be careful stopping fast can be a curse...

These bad boys rocked my car down from 45 MPH or so to 0 in no time flat...too bad the A$$HOLE in the pickup truck behind me was following too close and driving a vehicle with inferior...well inferior EVERYTHING as a result my baby got bum rushed...my neck ached for days and then some. Fortunately the damage was minor, new bumper...repair a little metal inside of the trunk (no exterior panels involved) new bumper shock and some minor frame pulling...minimum time on the machine...ohh and 4 wheel alignment. If you have time always look to the rear to see if the person behind you is going to be able to stop...the very least brace yourself. Whatever you do don't hit the person in front of you...let the moron behind you cream your car...cause trust me you don't want to be the one doing the bum rushing you'd be surprised what these ambulance chasers can get out of people...esp with rear end collision where all the fault in on the bum rusher and not the bum rushie.

Yeah it's just the rotors that suck...the caliper is just fine...though VERY VERY heavy
ohh and you don't have $HIT for pad choices...and what you do have cost soo much money it's not even funny.

dunno that's how they're designed...the vanes are going the right way which is what
matters...I dunno why the ST guys put it that way looked a little odd to me but I'm sure they have their reasons.

Yeah that's a good point...decisions decisions...all made in the blink of any eye
I think I faired pretty well...it certainly was no fun, but I'm glad I didn't hit the car in front of me...if I did it would have been because he pushed me some 5 feet or more into the old crappy benz in front of me.
