I went with Larry V's 55889211 rec. and it sounds much better, but I think the avant settings should be a little different due to the acoustics/the subwoofer. I don't have the ear to do much with it myself. Any help/suggestions?

bass about 1/2, mid a bit above 1/2, treble about 3/4 and fader two notches towards rear.

Although I like these settings I am sure others will disagree. Everyone has their own subjective preferences and the type of music that each listens to will also make a difference. Changing the settings on The hidden EQ definitely makes a discernable improvement. My recommendation is to play with the settings until you find the correct settings for you. Don't forget about the manual bass, mid, treble and fader controls for fine tuning.

I have the avant with the Bose option by the way.

I've found differntiating the hi/mid/lo settings for CDs makes a big difference.
