Anybody have a metallic rattle under the hood around 1000-1100 rpm? Dealer said it's "normal" .

The 2.7 TT is a very noisy engine. But you may have a loose heat shield too.

Only in 2nd or 3rd or higher though, not in 1st. Aer we talking about the same?

Loose heat sheilds seem to be pretty common....i had them.....

also had a metallic "chirping" (kinda like a cricket) at certain rpm/loads...that ended up being one of the wastegate rods contacting a heat sheild.....tech "adjusted" the heat sheild to prevent this...

last but not least....the most nagging of all and i complained several times about it....they finally found it at my 8k service....a broken weld on one of the exhaust manifolds (caused a rattle between 2k and 3k rpm)....this one required an engine pull to fix but its finally fixed!!!!

I've got a rattle in my left wastegate servo. Not a heat shield. Diagnosed with a stethoscope. Sounds like a little bell ringing.
