Default Anybody know if the AWE S-Flo.......

is a waste of money or if the product really has an improvement on horsepower?

Default Better not be I ordered one today as a matter of fact. K&N Blows

My K&N I think ****ed up my engine and let debree in the engine and it doesnt sit properly anyways.

Default The K&N does sit properly it just dosen't seem like it because it seals on the top of the box not

the bottom where you set it. I noticed that so I took the whole air box out to put it in and realized that it is desgned to seal against the top half of the box. That makes sense because the intake would suck the panel that direction.

Default Which is interesting since they apparently have already (m)

done tests that show it makes an improvement, at least according to the information on their web site.

The S-flo and GIAC chip got me a 13.42 @102 mph temp=90

No, we do not say we did a dyno run. We say we did MAF datalogging. We estimated the power.

Default I will be dyno testing the S flo this week...

the car i wanted to test it on had a faulty stock bypass valve(go figure), but if you know anyone here in the south jersey/philadelphia area that wants to do an impartial test let me know, the last thing i want to hear after the dyno test is it was not independant or impartial, hell if you fly out here you can input the data into the computer and drive the car...what im trying to get across is how/why? on any other turbo car in the universe this type of intake makes 7-20hp but on the S4 it doesn't(its physics man the less resistance before and after the turbo the more power you make across the board-let alone the air straightening qualities of the S-flo over a panel setup), hell frank i made 7hp/12lb torque(dyno'd) on the WRX with a far simpler idea...i will dyno test the S-flo this week on a car with just a GIAC S chip, and possibly an A6 2.7t stock...Sorry about the delay i have been busy datalogging my car, new baby and packing for a new house(good news is the new house has a great kitchen and I can chef up one hell of a $hit sandwich)...Bottom line is the S-flo works and for a mass air equipped S4 its the best intake option possible and is not limited in upper RPM power production like a panel filter...
-utilizes the best filter element(independently tested to flow and filter better than the competition)
-utilizes a velocity stack
-utilizes an air straightening mandrel tube
-utilizes factory cold air box
