Anybody thought about buying a Libretto from eBay to use with VAG Tool?

I'd like to find something that I can stick in the trunk...
by the cd changer. I'd like to build a solid mount where it can just stay all the time, drawing power from a circuit if possible and just connected to the car. I could then pull it and grab data as needed. Not sure how easy or feasible this would be.

Been thinking the same thing...
A sub-notebook would be perfect for running VAG tool. It is small enough to stash them in your car and cheap enough to not really worry about it.
The only thing that you might find limiting is that the screen resolution is pretty low and the use of a CD-ROM requires attaching of an external device.
Toshiba is going to release a new Libretto running a Transmeta Crusoe processor soon. I think it be too costly to just run VAG Tool.

Used both a 50CT and 70CT w/Vag-Com - no problem
Just make a cig lighter cable, power car up to trick Libretto into switching to "A/C" and then turn car off again.
(Toshiba kindly won't view 12V as "A/C adapter present" but will view 13.5V that way - then doesn't care when input drops to 12V.)
