anyone else running 225/35/18 on 8.5" wheel?

anyone else running 225/35/18 on 8.5" wheel?
yes, that is what i am about to try. it is an s03 pp in the above mentioned size. it appears, based on calculations by two different (tire) people that the 225/40 and 225/35 offer the same wheel protection and differ only by the rolling diameter (24.3 v. 25.6).
i am a little concerned about wheel damage, but based on the fact that my wheels got scraped with 255/35/18 on and without me hitting anything that i noticed (probably a light curb skim); i am beginning to doubt that wheel protection on a tire does much of anything.
(oh, the wheels are hre 545, 18x8.5, 38mm offset in black ano)
