Anyone have any experience with German Castrol 0W-30 ???

German Castrol 0W-30 (says "Made in Germany" on the label) is supposedly identical to Castrol SLX which would make it a group IV/V oil.
Query if anyone has any experience running this oil in their S4? I'm considering puting it in for the winter.
Thanx

After months of searching, I accidentally stumbled on it at an Autozone.
Haven't put it in yet, however the only reason I'm considering it is because of the high praises sung on the oil forum re: this oil.

Not the same as what they sell in Germany

This 0-40 oil meets the Audi specs for regular oil (not VW long life spec). I switched from Mobil 1 0-40 to Formula RS 0-40 at my last oil change about 2 months ago and I could swear I felt a power increase, but was too embarassed to post my impression here.
I have also seen S4's in Germany use the Casatrol Formula RS 10-60 W oil, good I guess for not too cold winters and burning up the autobahn at 160 mph. The advertising for this oil claims 5% more horsepower.

Link to Castrol Germany Formula RS 0W-40 page

I've been using it for the last 20k miles or so. (edited)
UOA's on it came back as good or better than Amsoil 0W30(said Castrol in previous post) and M1 0W40. I like it better than the other 2 because the engine seems quieter on it. Wish someone else would try it just to confirm what I feel/hear. Do a search on the oil forum, you should find my post.

The same as Castrol Formula SLX 0W-30 ???

The conclusions on the BOBISTHEOILGUY is that the German manufacturered Castrol SYNTEC 0W-30 is identical to Europe's Castrol Formula SLX 0W-30.
This, and Castrol's RS oils, are all G-IV oils. I always stayed away from the 10W-60 because it wasn't a 0W, because I assumed that it would require more additives to get the wide spred and because I didn't see a need for a SAE 60 wt oil in the cars I drive.

I will look for your post on BOBISTHEOILGUY.
If I can find the oil, which apparently isn't easy, then I will try it over the winter months. Not sure that I want to use it in the summer though. Then I think I'd rather prefer the slightly thicker Mobil One 0W-40.

Well, just keep in mind that M1 is only *slightly* thicker
and it shears down after about 2k miles. IMO the Castrol will hold up better in the long run (I usually go 5 to 7k). I've had no problems running it during the summer months in PA. In fact, like I said before, the car just seems to run quieter which I know should be indicative of a heavier oil. Give it a try. BTW, it seems to be getting easier to find.
