I mean how do they apply the tint?

Do they take the windows apart, do they apply stuff to the exterior (or interior) of the windows while on the car?

Yea, they take the windows out and replace them with new ones. BTW - I've got this great bridge for sale, barely used.

They cut the film to the shape of each window, apply a water and soap solution, peel the backing off of the film (like a sticker), put the film in place, then work out the bubbles. They do not need to remove the glass and it can be removed later if wanted (though it's a PITA to get off).
