Anyone know the best cleaner for removing bird dropping stains on Santorin Blue paint??
Yes, got hit over the weekend, right on the
hood--nice and heavy too. Can't seem to remove the "outline" of where the stuff sat on the hood. The hood still has a clear residue on it from that Shiat! I've tried a few different things, but to no avail. (soap & water, 3M fine cut removal, and wax)
Had the same thing happen to me in my old Santorin Blue A4, and had to have the stain "wet sanded"
Any tips or suggestions are greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

I had a huge pile of bird sh&*^t on my Santorin.....ended up using a clay bar.....
I needed to push really, really hard to get it off - it did come off. Then used Imperial hand Glaze over the spot, then a polish then wax. Worked fine. I ended up just doing the entire hood because the spot where the pile was looked nicer than the rest of the hood when I was done.

Wax wouldn't do it. A fine polish will or the clay bar.
Be sure to wax afterwards of course.
Next time it happens: Before you wipe off the bird dropping at all. Put a water soaked paper towel on the dropping. Let it soak for several minutes. Then wipe the crap off. Usually that will remove the whole thing (stain included).

You don't need to wet sand it...
search the detailing forum for "One Grand Special Touch" polish. RickM has had some success with that stuff when removing etchings from bird droppings. 2-3 successive treatments of the polish seems to do the trick for him.
A claybar is not the solution here, and P21S GEPC is probably too mild to deal with the problem.

I've used 3M Finessett II with good results ...
difficult to get it all removed if it's etched. Cover with high quality wax. Some have recommended keeping a protective layer of polymer wax to prevent the stuff from etching the paint in the first place. Also, check the detail forum.
Good luck.

PC 7424 and Menzerna IP followed Menzerna FP, then on to your wax of choice. Without a doubt the
best stuff I've used. Menzerna removes scratches and swirls (does NOT fill them, so it does remove a bit of clear coat).
