Anyone know how much harm would likely be caused by leaving 1 bolt off tranny mounting to engine?

Anyone know how much harm would likely be caused by leaving 1 bolt off tranny mounting to engine?
My rear main seal was replaced a few weeks ago. Car is yet again leaking oil at the tranny/engine mounting point. Was looking around under the hood because I am feeling an unusual vibration under acceleration and low and behold I find the upper right bolt that holds the tranny bellhousing to the engine is totally loose - I was able to pull it out of it's hole with one of those plunger parts grabbers with the long spring-like body. The bolt did not have a washer like the other bolts that are still attached have. Does one missing bolt mean that much?
I don't like it at all. I think its indicative of the sloppy work that went into the reassembly of my drive train. They also didn't properly mount the lower intercooler studs back into the bracket that holds the intercoolers in place - there were banging around in there.
Thanks for any advice you can give!

Yeah, that's what I was thinking - but the service advisor (not the manager) I spoke with about this
said "Only 1 missing bolt shouldn't hurt anything; I wouldn't worry about it...". Not exactly the attitude I was hoping for when I bought my car!

I HATE THAT!
Don't these guys go to months and months of audi specific training? Do they need basic mechanics training in addition?
I had a bolt that was too long and stuck out about .5" from the bell housing. Later they left my trans mount unbolted.

yeah, then you should go tell him
engineers try to get rid of all the bolts and fasteners they can (trust me, its tons cheaper to use as few fasteners as possible), so if they made it into the final design, its either neccessary or there was no time for redesign. i owuldn't gamble a 40K car on a 1/2 chance(odds are based on notknwoing bias obvioulsly)!

Yeah, I know about your situation - in fact I showed my dealer the AW print-outs as an example of
why they should check out the upper oil pan gasket and ultimately find the ROOT CAUSE of the oil leak rather than just simply putting in another RMS and having me come back for round #3!
Thanks for your advisory posts in the past; I am at least armed with some data that will hopefully get my car fixed properly and back on the road (with ALL the bolts installed this time).

Best of luck to you. That was a painful 8 weeks for me but AoA did fix it in the end.
You'd think the information would be common knowledge somewhere in the Audi tech world... but dunno.
