Anyone recode their A/C to NOT turn on when you turn on the RECIRC button?
I have a VAG and I know this can work with the A4's, so I'm guessing it should work with the S4.
This feature allows you to turn on the recirculation button on your A/C unit without turning on the A/C compressor/fan. It will keep the smog out of your car, yet turn nothing else on...just like in a Honda/Toyota where there usually is a manual switch for such a selection.
I tryed switching the code from 00160 to 00060, but everything seems to operate the same as before.
Any help is appreciated.

I wish - from what I have seen the closest you can get is to hit Econ and then
run the fan manually at it's lowest level. Econ does keep the AC compressor from running. Set the temp arbitrarily low to keep the heat from kicking in.
We don't have passive air circulation like a toyota.

Especially critical given how thoroughly the interior seals.
I'm not sure what SpeedyS4 is trying to accomplish here because he is also putting the system into recirculation mode which will make the window fogging worse.
Toyotas have pretty loose airflow in the cabins and you can passively vent outside air through the interior without having the fan on with the windows closed - I do wish I could do that in an Audi. The S4 fan is noisy too.
The compressor is robbing you of power however.
