Anyone tried APR's Immobilizer Clone utility?
From APR's website:
"...each time a new ECU is 'adapted' for operation in a particular vehicle using the factory procedures, the car creates a new internal code that is compared to a code stored on the ECU. Hence, if you adapt a new ECU to work in a vehicle (using the factory procedure) you must readapt the old ECU if you wish to put it back in the car. Using APR's Immobilizer Clone utility, you can create a virtual clone of an ECU's immobilizer. This way, if you ever need to change between the original and the new ECU you simply swap the ECU into the car - no immobilizer re-adaptation is required."
I don't quite understand what is meant by "adapt an ECU to work in the car". If I plug in a new ECU, do I need to "adapt" it to make it work? APR's ECU install instructions only says to plug it in and do throttle adaptation by turning the ignition to on for 3 minutes. I'm also concerned about the car's "internal code".

Thanks frank. Should have searched first. Just did one and came across the same answer from you...
back in May. When did they fix the search engine? It's actually useful now.
