Anyone use the software from OBDTools? Here's what I figure:

Anyone use the software from OBDTools? Here's what I figure:
$77 gets me the shareware version of VAG and a cable. The shareware is extremely limited, but that's OK for me now.
Right now, I only need to check readiness and some other things that the shareware will allow me to (air flow, intake air temp.)
when I want to upgrade to full blown VAG, I pay Ross $99 and get an activation code.
99+77=$176.
Am I missing something?

does any KKL cable work? Vag makes it sound like it might not.
I don't mind spending a little more to avoid any headaches from crappy or non compatible cables.
