Default APR Stg 3 M-box throttle cut help...

I only suspect it's throttle cut, and already talked to APR.

Not interested in any APR hating please!

History/Setup:
Installed Stg3 last month, already had piggies and RS4 ICs. Have 91, 93, 100 and 104 slots + antitheft. Prev owner (V-Twin) says software is the latest, tentatively assume that's v5.0. I'm planning to re-flash the box, and may swing by NewDimensions today since I'm working in The Valley.

Symptoms:
On the freeway the car goes like hell on either 91 or a little better on 93 with a Cali-tane and 2.5g of 104. Only notice t-c around town in 1st or 2nd gear. Punch it, boost builds, car starts to go ballistic then BLUUAAA, it's like someone just put me back to stock. Grab the next gear and suddenly she's back. Problem has gotten more prevalent with the cooler temps. Boost is MUCH higher than with Stg2+ AMS, spiking as high as 1.6 and holding 1.3 to 1.4.

I haven't checked codes yet, and haven't FATS'd it yet either. I haven't pressure tested it since build and will do that too, but since it's only occasional I don't suspect a leak.

If this is t-c, should I be on APR's case to help remedy, or do I need PEB TCD/MBC and the 'winks?

Thanks!

An mbc in parallel would stop the spike, but you shouldn't need either one with APR stg III code.

No throttle cut whatsoever on my APR car.

I've never seen APR's Stg3 code cut throttle like that.

Default Mine had that same problem with stage 2+ APR M box (fixed it)

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/44443/apr_v5_stage_2_101004.jpg"></center><p>I posted about this before (https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/1786981.phtml) and didn't get a answer. I installed the 3/4 throttle mod and problem is gone (see link below). I actually used a 3/4" rubber tip instead (ACE hardware P/N ACE 51240). Works great.

Default Do you think a Stage 1 would be a match for you on the hwy? :)

Let me know if you want to VAG next Sunday. I'm curious to see what some logs say about your car. Check for boost leaks because I heard some blowoff type noises when we ran on the hwy.

Thanks for the fw test drive.

Default I think I could probably keep up with you...

I hit New Dimensions today, my s/w was v1.0, now v1.2. They screwed up my AntiTheft though. Grrr, not happy about that. I explained the t/c symptom and they explained that it's just overboosting and pulling way back on timing. Maybe this s/w version will be better.
I pressure-tested it yesterday and need to replace the manifold gaskets (tiny leak), otherwise that's good. VAG had 0 codes.
As for another race, let's find a time and place that's a little more appropriate. Meantime, just keep in mind that my car will only get faster as I sort it out. Your car... well, your turbos will blow.
