Default Audi Quality

What is the deal on Audis back in the day they had a lot of problems i heard from people who owned them. Were/are they really that bad, where BMW's and Mercedes that much better. Pretty much can Audi stand with BMW and Mercedes in terms of quality or do they suck?

Default hehehe BMW and Mercedes suck as bad as Audi...

German cars are not reliable. Mercedes USED to be but that's a thing of the past. BMW has multiple recalls going on the 7 series and M3.

Compare how many late 80's early 90's Audis you see on the road to BMWs and MBs.

Default This could be regional. A lot of MB from yesteryear still run nice.

Hell, I would love to take an early 90's E class or even an 80's SL for a nice spin. But that was when MB was MB.

You might see a couple yuppies with the 2002's but those things just don't sound like they are holding up.

I will include a great link, it should answer your question. Just don't get hung up on some people's opinions in here. Most are uninformed.

Mercedes Quality gone Downhill

Default I think "early-mid Beta" describes the current BMWs pretty well

Engines that grenade
Engines that start - most of the time
HVAC units that crash
Radio controls that kinda work, except when the radio crashes
Wheels that can withstand potholes 75% of the time

It sounds a lot like a Windows beta to me. Cool!

Default BMW and Audi use so many of the same suppliers that their reliability should be nearly equal

Trannies? ZF/Bosch
Drivetrain? Haldex
Engine managment? Bosch

What about all of the other systems?
