Audiworlders in Los Angeles. Found a Huber Optik tint installer in LA...
I called Huper Optik last week, needing to install tint on the Avant. I've finally given in as it gets pretty damn hot in LA, and I'm not the fan of heat being a cold weather bird meeeself.
So, the place is called:
Window Tints of Hollywood
323.466.0608
Contact: Dan
Those of you who would like to tint their cars with this supposed fine German tint, you can email me and I'll try to get a group buy if possible.
I'd like to do this next week.

Apparently this stuff has a ceramic coating instead of metallized coatings...
that normally reduce the V1 sensitivity.
Besides, I need to tint. It's time, and I might as well try this stuff. It transmits more light while offering greater UV and heat reflectivity.
I know a lot of brands may claim a similar statement, so worse come to worse, it's all the same.
But it is German, if that's worth a penny or two.

Hüper Optik

I haven't called them yet. But if there's just more than me interested...
Then there is a chance of a better price. I'd rather just have all my ducks lined up, if you know what I mean.
Also, I compared Formula One Tint, which I had on the S4 sedan, and Huper Optik's data, and it seems it rejects more heat energy for a less opaque film.
This would be a benefit as tint on the front windows is illegal in CA. Police may not harrass much if your car isn't like a Knight Rider special, which my VW seems to be.

Well, if there are engineers here that can verify that ceramic coatings...
don't interfere, then we'll have to stick with our own "reasoning" abilities.
Maybe James R. can chime in or we can call him.
The V1 issue is my primary reason NOT to have tinted so far.
But your list maybe good enough to pull a discount. I'll call them next week, or better yet, stop by tomorrow.

i've honestly had no problems with formula one and my v1
...no range differences, still plenty sensitive.
for what it's worth, at least.
(oh, and yes frank, i finally hardwired/remote displayed the damn thing :P)
