Default Autospeed Downpipes - does the current version still have fitment issues? (m)

I know for the ones manufactured in the April/May 2003 timeframe (Avalon GB), several had fitment issues such as they were too long, tight on the driver's side, poor bung location, rubbing against heat shield, etc.

Just wanted to know whether or not these issues have been addressed. The quality of their downpipes seem to be top notch, but that would be a moot point if fitment is an issue. I'd appreciate your thoughts.

Default I think that they were overwhelmed by the volume and not ready for it

thus some pipes went out the door, maybe a bit on the "off" side. I don't believe one should have issues if you order them out of a sheep herding group buy

Default i LOVE mine

the heatshield were trimmed to fit. i have no vibrations or rubbing at all.

BUT, they were too long, so i had them trimmed. it costed me like $20, so i had no issues.

they sound sooo nice... much more growl and muscle to the exhaust

Default Um: "the heatshield were trimmed to fit" and "they were too long"? I don't care how much it "costed"

you to fix the problem, they shouldn't have gone out the door like that.

Default I love mine. many of the fitment issues had to do with the length of the cat

not the d/p. This was only a problem with certain aftermarket exhausts - others fit fine. The newer cats have been modified to fit any exhaust without modification. They have shortened the distance to where the transition begins and now exhausts that slip over the cat pipe fit without issue.

Default mine fit poorley (i was in the group buy), and even now i am fixing rattles and

rubbing. mine were too long, and they butt together causing really loud vibration. i can fix this, but i haven;t had my car, nor have i had the time when i did have the car. so......what should you do? i like them, esp with k04's. without k04's i think they are maybe not the right choice. also, the sound is great, and the welds are quality on mine. so i think they are worht the money i paid in the group buy. 1000.00 was bettert than anything else and they were bigger.

but with k03's iw ould do some research on maybe going too big??? i am not an expert.

Default I love mine....

I had some rubbing issues at first, but I expected that. The downpipes definitely woke up my Milltek. The sound my car makes now is perfect -- just what I wanted.

Default Very happy with mine sound wise, performance-wise and, well, the fit...

shortened my bandclamps to improve fit. Haven't touched them or had issue with them since. I was in the big group-buy. I'll take the huge savings over the modified band clamp any day!

Default

I believe they're designed to be used w/o the heatshields.
