Default AWE or APR chip?

If they are the same, fogive me. I just got a silver 01 S4 Avant Tip and love it's power, but a little more wouldn't hurt.

Both chips seem to provide close to the same performance upgrade for the same price, $600. The APR claims a little more torque with 93 octane. The big difference... APR offers a second program option (revert to stock) for only $150, where AWE charges an extra $600.

Any insight into this competition would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Default GIAC(AWE) is more of a powerful type chip, APR is your "lighter" chip

...i believe

Default I have had good results with APR on my tip car

I am going to try AWE GIAC chip in the future just to compare. Both are great chips. Cant go wrong in my eyes.

Default Re: I have had good results with APR on my tip car

The APR chip seems more appealing... two modes for $750 is a steal.

Default what is "lighter", in this case?

The APR gives two modes for $750, while AWE charges $1200 for the same. Thoughts?

Nice... subtle. How's the throttle response improvement?

Default Depends on what you want, what type of fuel you have access to and what area you live in

You want technology APR is bar none the best and the leader.

You want performance, GIAC is probably your ticket.

However you want something that is a bit smoother and less twitchy then it might be APR

If you think mid to low 13's is enough on 100 then APR is all you need.

If you need security, APR EMCS cannot be beat!

You want new code, updated tweaks when someone says ahh haaa, it used to be APR, now it's GIAC. It's unclear what work is being done in the APR camp for the 2.7T equipped S4
