awe vs rs4 intercoolers
Im having some work done to my car, new motor mounts, downpipes and intercoolers, i wanted awe, but just found out there on backorder, so im getting rs4's instead, my mechanic told me in all actuality (is that even a word?) that the rs4's are better, i dont really believe this but i dont know, for the intercoolers and everyting, tubing, EVERYTHING he's charging me 1250, 150 less then awe's which come with very little...which are better and is that a good price for rs4 intercoolers???
thanx guys for your help

they're basically the same...
RS4 requires more cutting and i *think* rs4 pipes, while AWE requires little / no cutting (depends on who you ask) and uses stock piping. AWE is supposed to be more effective, which is a plus, but the smaller (s4 stock size vs. rs4) IC inlets seem to be a big negative.
in the end, go with which ever you can get your hands on. from everything I've read you'll get similar results with either setup.

when i search the awe charts come up and it says that awe's have lower pressure drop...
i am not biased to any ic, I want the absolute best one, so some hard testing on the two would be absolutely awesome. Do you know where I could find this kind of stuff? TIA!

Since the only numbers I've ever seen in a comparison between (m)
the two were produced by AWE, you should be a little skeptical of the source. I've followed this forum for a few years and never seen any other data posted as is suggested below. I find it hard to believe there is any other data, since this topic has come up frequently and nobody has ever producaed an alternate source of hard data comparing the two.
I went through the same process you are and decided to learn a little more about IC's by checking out sites like Bell Intercoolers and reading what they had to say about intercoolers, instead of listening to self-proclaimed experts who had no data to backup their claims.
I concluded that the performance difference between the two is likely to be negligible, so I looked at other considerations like ease of install and amount of cutting that needed to be done to the car.
