Default Back to stock mode! :(

Since I feel as though I may have a TBB beginning to tear, I've gone back to stock mode until my Samco TBB gets here (Thanks to Peter at Forge!!) sometime this week.

I haven't run in stock mode for a LONG time now. The car is smoother than I remember and really not that bad, power wise. The only thing I miss is the passing power without having to downshift. I was downshifting all morning!

Something else I noticed is how much longer it takes the car to rev up under WOT. Watching the boost gauge is boring now....WOOSH 9psi and sits there! ;p

Of course now that I'm in stock mode, I'll run into every M3, Vette and wanna-be racer! ;p

What makes you think the TBB is tearing?

Default I started getting a surge under WOT...

and it's not fuel related, it doesn't do it in stock mode and my BPV are Forge units. From the write up DonP did, the TBB is a prime suspect.

I'm going to wait till I get my Samco TBB and then inspect my OEM one.

How much did you end up paying for the full kit (shipping and Taxes)?

Try the changing the MAF. I had very similar symptoms and they were cured after MAF replacement.

Have you taken it off to look at it yet? If not, why not?

Default Did you READ my post??

I'm waiting till the replacement gets here. Why would I want to take it apart twice? I have no new boot so what good would it do me? It runs fine in stock mode and I can wait the few days.

Default Ha! The same is happening to me. Is the rest of the world psychic!?!

I'm stock right now in preparation for my next service visit. It seemed like the very day after I put my stock ECU back, I encountered everything from an insanely aggressive (and surprisingly fast (but not fast enough)) 24V Taurus to a line-up with a black Testarossa. Of course, there has also been every walk of life in between: M3s, Cobras, CLK430s, etc. Where were all these fools when my chip was in!?!

It's not been all bad running stock. I tend to be more aggressive and rev-happy with it, which has been fun. Plus, it's more of a challenge to see what kind of performance I can squeeze out of it. One thing though -- my boost gauge has been very bored.

G/l on the new hoses!

Hmm......Have you tried your stock ECU to see if it would go in limp mode?
