Default battery options

went to start the car this morning. got nothing, my alarm was off, no dash lights, no dome lights, no ignition.

so looks like i need a new battery.

is an odyssey the way to go, or are there better options?

also does anyone know which odyssey fits the best in our battery compartments. TIA

Default If you're looking for a direct/easy replacement, Interstate MTP-91.

Its a direct fit and readily available pretty much everywhere. Its not much of a weight savings over stock, but its slightly lighter and works well.

Default noob question

my car is currently at stage III, will that make a difference in selecting a battery beyond just weight considerations.

it seems like it should not matter, but I also have a decent of aftermarket stereo equipment that will need power

Default Stage III makes no difference for battery selection.

Bear in mind, lightweight batteries generally aren't as good in cold weather and I think don't do as well with heavy draw (stereo equipment).

If the stock battery was sufficient to power your stereo eqpt., then the Interstate MTP-91 will do fine.

Default Best fit is from an OEM battery. On some (but not all) S4's, aftermarket batteries

are a couple of inches too short. At least, that was my experience.

Default The Interstate MTP-91 is shorter than OEM, but...

depending on which battery hold-down you have, its still a direct fit.

If you have this hold-down, it slides in to accomodate the smaller sized Interstate battery. If you have the other style, its not as simple.

Default No, that's probably about the same weight as the Interstate battery.

The Odyssey battery will not be a direct fit though... you'll have to fabricate some sort of bracket to hold it in place.

Default I like my Odyssey 925. Saved ~30-40 lbs. over the stock battery. It definitely fits the compartment,

but has to be jury-rigged:
