Beautiful weather, got the time, ready to paint my calipers.....CAN'T GET THE LUGS OFF!! Dammit!
Whoever tightened these lugs made sure they wouldn't come off, if I get a flat I'm screwed. I don't want to screw up the lugs, any ideas?

or get a garage with an impact wrench to start them...
the lugs rust and become nearly solid. There's a lug specific type of anti-sieze compound if you change wheels fruequently (like having a track set).
Impact jarrs the lugs lose and breaks the bond of the rust a bit more safely than alot of leverage on the bolt (which can put side-loading forces on it).

A few tips
1. I use a long braker bar (not a ratchet)
2. I strongly recommend a 6-point (not 12) socket so that you dont round the nuts
3. I also find that an impact socket is the sturdiest kind - about $5 at home depot
4. I then coat my lugs with graphite fluid - not much. keeps them from seizing, even when future animals get their pneumatic tools out....
