Default I had TAP Stage 2 in CO for a year with no problems

I was also very happy with the power output. Of course I'm not TIP, but this could work well especially if you were to also install GIAC or APR's tip chips which I have heard work wonders on that transmission
You will hear immediately that TAP sucks as soon as other people see this, but they don't speak from experience so don't let it bother you. and as I said before, MTM has high altitude prgramming

Default My Thoughts...

OK...I have had both the MTM and ABT 551M ECU's in my 2001.5 S4. I loved them both and had no problems with either of them well over 10000-11000 feet going up to the mountains. The original MTM Gen I chips were having problems at high altititudes thus they sent out an MTM engineer to adjust and come up w/ the GEN II chip. Now you can get the MTM from Larry over at Champagne Motors in Denver...ABT you can only get from Stratmosphere or AMS. I did however think the ABT was a bit smoother then the MTM..but that is all "seat of the pants" analysis

Which ever chip you choose do the following:
-1) Buy the full ECU so you can keep your "stock" ECU
-2) Buy the VAG-COM software/hardware for doing your throttle ADP..much smoother thottle response. And you can view your codes.
-3) Plan on getting an upgraded suspension..the stock suspension...IMO is overwhelmed by the additional 60HP.
-4) Radar Detector for sure V1 or 8500
-5) IcyHot to work the cramps out of your jaw from smiling so much ;-)

Default if you have tip, get ABT (m)

ABT makes a chip especially for tip models that limits TORQUE not HP to within the range of the audi tip trans.
