Blind Spot mirrors - I have not been satisfied with the field of vision
that the side mirrors provide. I have tried and rejected several of the stick-on mirrors and supplemental mirrors that claim to provide a better view becasue they either looked wierd or did not do what I wanted.
I found that split vision/blind spot mirrors are popular in Europe, although I had not seen any in the US.
I bought a set(they are available individually)of pop-on replacement mirrors for the S4 from Whitehouse Audi in Kent UK. They retain the heating element, but do not have the dimming function. Losing the dimming function was fine with me, because I felt the mirrors dimmed too much. The field of vision increased tremendously. The cost was approx $100/pr (depends on exchange rate on day of cc transaction) delivered in the US...set from Kent on Friday 9/29...in my mailbox Tues 10/3.
I would recommend these to anyone who drives on multi-lane freeways. The export specialist I dealt with was Martyn Whitehouse. He was great to deal with and can be reached at mwhitehouse@www.partsforaudi.co.uk
Tried to get a grey birdsyes maple shift ****, but apparently the grey wood is a US only color. Did get a silver Alcantara shift **** tho for an RS4..same shape as our black leather, but with a slightly dif 6 speed pattern. Check their website.
