bye A-W and thanks
My S4 got totalled a week ago, and since then I've been car shopping like mad. As much as I loved my S4, I wanted something a little bigger for added safety. Since I love the S4 engine, I almost went with an A6 2.7t. In the end, however, I defected, and am getting a Merc E55 AMG. Very nice car, built like a tank, and very fast 0-60 times as well. I take delivery tomorrow of a black on black 2001.
So thanks everyone for helping me with my S4 mods (GIAC chip, UUC VMII, etc...) over the past year.
See you on the road!

M5 was $10K over MSRP, ridiculous!
I am going to place an order for a 2002 M5 which is rumored to have engine upgrades anyway and will be the last production year for this body style. If ordered, I can buy at MSRP. Then I will give the E55 to someone in my family. (I got out of the market early last year.)

Re: M5 engine upgrades . . . (More)
First, sorry about your S4 and congratulations on the E55.
I am awaiting a 2002 M5 and have heard rumors of engine upgrades as well. Do you have any additional "information," whether it be pure speculation, hearsay, etc.
Thanks.

Re: M5 upgrade rumors
I've just heard very unsubstantiated rumors that I am, however, wanting to believe. I've heard 435 hp, and possibly sequential gearing. We should know more in a month or two.
