Can anyone report on the GIAC chip? How does it compare to MTM/APR?

Installed today...
When I got back to my car from a week long trip to the frozen NE. It was 10deg outside and my car was covered with snow. Quite a chilly experience installing in a sub zero wind chill!
Anyway, the drive home from Columbus OH to Cincy was to be my testing ground. Being really cold I chose to just get a feel for the light throttle response. Cruising at 65 in 5th in Tip mode and just squeeze a little bit to see how much more torque there was. Well, I noticed that even in Tip mode it would drop kick down to 4th. Before the chip I would have to make a pretty dramatic punch of the throttle to get it to kick down. Now just a little squeeze at 2-2.3k kicks down. I'm hoping this is just a learning phase and will get better. I would prefer to stay in 5th unless I really punch it.
The feeling of power under my foot is awesome! Even just cruising, you can feel much more juice available with just a touch of the go pedal.
Hopefully the weather won't be too bad this weekend and I'll be able to do some runs thru the gears to see just how much more power there is.
RE:The 'sandblaster' sound; while I didn't do any runs up to 5k I could here quite a bit more air rushing. I'm convinced that it is an intake issue and not exhaust. I'll order a Ram-Air or K&N filter and see if it goes away.
APR or LLtek exhaust next!
