Can someone explain the rs4 components on a stage 3?
I am kind of confused what people do when they have a full stage 3. Some people already have the MAF sensor and the airbox, fuel pump, injectors, etc with stage 3's. Can you just buy a an rs4 intake manifold and throttle body and hook it up? Is a different tbb needed for the the rs4 tb? And when you add heads and/or cams, what has to be port matched to what in order to get it to work? TIA

did you look at the tech section?
there's a matrix of different Stage 3 kits. It depends on the tuner. I'd check there first and then if you still have questions I'm sure someone on here could answer.
good luck

Don't get too caught up in "stages," they're just arbitrary abstractions.
That "Stage 3" matrix that QuadDamage talked about might help you figure things out.
IIRC, the RS4 TB has a larger diameter. Which requires some mods to get certain tubes to fit with certain devices, you get the idea.
I don't know of any using other heads or cams. Hell, I don't even think people are doing regrinds yet. The easy thing right now is "mo boost" - so you don't really hear a lot about people touching internals, P&P, extrude honing or port matching.

There really is no standard "stage 3"........
Every tuner has their own definition of "stage 3". In the S4 aftermarket community at large, however, stage 3 is generally accepted to be KO4's, with appropriate air flow and fuel management. Cams, manifolds, IC's,OC's etc are all enhancements on top of the basic stage 3. Proper heat management is the key to optimizing the performance of KO4's, particularly as ambient temps start to rise. You are going to really start getting diminishing returns beyond that.

Yeah, only those CRAZY guys get into that stuff ;-)
