Can someont tell me the differences between AWE's & JP's downpipes
#2
Basic difference is the type of flex joint used . . .
AWE uses Porsche-style ball-bearing joint & JP Eng. uses the stock mesh flex joint. Others will chime in shortly on this topic.

I sent you email, didn't you read it?
anyway, the main difference is that AWE's has test pipes as well as main cats - since the flex joint is a different type (ball/socket instead of mesh/bellows), it allows you to take the cats off and replace them with test pipes.
The JPEng ones cannot do this.

I'm going to throw in a completely SUBJECTIVE opinion
take it as you will, but here's something else to consider.
The quality and the company you're getting them from. I'm not looking to knock JPE, I know nothing about them. However, I will say that AWE DOES have a solid reputation. Kenny McNiel is well respected as a fabricator and I know they'll stand behind their product.
They have spent a huge amount of time developing these - they never rush to market - and they've sold a ton of them. You can be sure of the consistency and quality of these DP's - no questions asked.
When spending $1300, why not spend a few hundred more to get test pipes and the quality and reputation like AWE?
Just my opinion.

Here's the difference from my point of view
This has nothing to do with the quality of the product or the company making it. However AWE is an AudiWorld advertiser and as such has the ability to make commercial posts. JPE -- I don't know who they are and IMHO the people selling these through AudiWorld's forums are taking advantage of the site and ultimately hurting everybody.
You might argue that it is no big deal and that the "right" to get information out is more important. Information is fine. However I believe that certain people are marketing products through the forums exclusively. They do not pay for the ability to speak to this captive audience. They may or may not have the wherewithal to ensure they are a sustained commercial entity that uses legitimate avenues to manufacture, test, market and support their products.
Think about it for a second and consider the fact that despite what you think about AudiWorld polished looks we definitely depend on ongoing advertiser revenue to keep the site running. Nearly every dollar of revenue is spent on upkeep, enhancements and bandwidth.
