Can you all answer a question I have about the S4, or any car for that matter?

Default Can you all answer a question I have about the S4, or any car for that matter?

Say your driving the S4 around 80 mph, then you do a 90 degree turn, will the car flip, even though it has quattro? I hope I didn't ask a stupid question. Would it be the same effect on rwd and fwd cars? Thanks.

Default ask the power slide king....he's got to be around somewhere.

$hit, quattro won't help, if you pull a hard turn like that, I think you'll definitely make a highlight on the S4 forum...tumbling S4, hopefully on video...it all has to do with a higher cg, the amount of traction you have, tire sidewall stiffness, etc...you'd probably get away with that nonsense in an indy car...

take it fwiw...but not a good idea if you feel like living.

Default It would slide. The only way it would flip is if you hit a curb or somehow got the tires to fold

under (too low of air pressure maybe) and the the wheels to dig into the ground. Not enough traction on the outside wheels to flip a car with a low center of gravity (SUV is a different story).

Default One of the regulars on here went too fast around a curve/corner a year ago, slid, but hit a curb...

and flipped over. If the curb hadn't been there, I guess he wouldn't have flipped over. Even with the roll-over, I think it was reported that the occupants were generally fine.
If I remember correctly, it was one of the guys from the Washington State area; Seattle maybe?
I think that person got another S4 afterwards.

Default I've never tried one at 80Mph. But I have done a few at 50 or so on my old blowtenzas.....

I filled the tires up to like 45 PSI and it did just fine. One hell of a ride, it whips you around like crazy. (note: the parking lot was wet) I'm not sure what the car would do at 80mph. Make sure you have a HUGE parking lot and the roads are wet and you should be fine. Let me know how it goes.

Default Done it on the track a few times. Just slides, unless you dug into something.

Done 90s and 180s. The center of gravity is low enough. But once you start to spin, make sure you just put the wheel straight and put both feet in.

You will probably want to post that as its own thread.
