Car is ready for pickup from 10k service + DTC issue
I just got a call on my voicemail that my car is ready.
The service rep. and technician decided to keep the car for another day. 2 hours for a 10k service and another 24+ hours for a limp mode and DTC issue. They kept the car because something is really wrong and could not determine what was wrong during my wait in the lounge. All day yesterday they never called me indicating what was wrong or parts replaced plus charges. When I called them around 5pm Tuesday, the service rep. said something about my exaust not being stock and he did not want to bother the tech. to find out what was wrong because he was busy working on my car.
Yes I am under warranty with my 02' S4 but because of my minor mods (boost gauge, cat-back exaust and suspension) I became a little paranoid about them charging me and was wondering what he meant and eluded to when he mentioned my non-stock exaust.
Generally, I get a phone call and they list off problems and charges before I come to the dealer ready for payment.
How do Audi dealer's work? Do they call us explaining problems and costs if it's non-warranty work or do they just call and say, "Pickit up" if warranty is implied.
THanks,

They didn't skimp. They were done w/ 10k in 1 hour but they...
needed to diagnose a symptom I had for thousands of miles. They needed to fix it because I was not enjoying the car after 10 minutes of driving.
