Check engine light + 1st to 2nd gear grinds
I was wondering if anyone has had a check engine
light come on w/ a chipped car. I have had a GIAC
chip in for about 6 months with no problem until this light appeared a couple of weeks ago. On cold mornings the car sounds like it's not hitting on all six right when it starts up (kind of a blubbering). Wait until it warms for a a couple of minutes or tap the accelerator and it's fine. Any suggestions?
Also, I have a UUC 30% shortshifter and recently, unless I carefully notch the shifter in first gear, I get a slight gear grind as it goes into second. I don't rip shifts and it has nothing to do with how fast the gearchange is done. Again, ideas? Thanks

Re: Better not have an exhaust or AoA will void your gastank warranty.
Funny how many people mention warranty. I spoke to the service manager at my local dealer and asked what would be voided if I "hypothetically" put a chip in. He said no big deal, just that will not warranty check engine lights. He said there is no other warranty issue. I took it in for it's first oil change several months ago WITH the chip and exhaust installed and nobody said a work.

Well remember, the dealer doesn't have a say in warranty coverage.
The service manager can say anything he wants. If something expensive is broken, AoA has to approve the repair, and they DO care.
