To chip or not to chip....
I'm wondering who out there, actually waiting for the biturbo S4s, has made up their minds.
If you've decided one way or the other, let me here your choice and reasoning!
For me, I'm pretty sure I'll chip, but I have to admit I'm scared of the whole warranty issue for this expensive a car. One blown turbo = two replacement turbos = ~$2000 give or take.

I am not worried about the warranty...
I put 45K miles on a 300ZX TT putting out close to 400HP. Never had a problem that wasn't my own fault (vaporized the clutch twice, they replaced it under warranty). Just for a safeguard, I'll probably go with APR since they'll probably offer the chip with an extra ECU.

Re: I am not worried about the warranty...
Kevin,
I am new to the game. Please tell me who APR is and what an ECU is?
I do want to chip my S4 that is currently on order slated for delivery in late Oct. Was told by the dealer to wait until 7500 mi, and that I probably wouldn't have a problem with the warranty.

Re: I am not worried about the warranty...
APR is Audi Performance and Racing, an Audi tuner out of Alabama (I think). They are one of the many tuners out there but I have heard a lot of positive things about them. ECU is the car's computer unit that houses all the information for your car's engine to run. Tuners remap ignition/fuel/turbo boost levels in the ECU to accomplish the higher HP levels. I think on APR's web site they have installtion instructions so you can see what I'm talking about. Hope this helps.
