Default Chips vs. Warranty

I know that a couple chips (really software downloads of the OBD II) for BMW's are installed by dealers and (I am led to believe) do not void the BMW warranty. Is this true of any S4 "chips"?

Thanks,

Tom

Default Any modification to engine specs, that are beyond that of stock(more)

will attribute to a coided warranty, especially if they can back track to the chipped changes creating the problems. I bet that unless you went with an Audi approved chip, which I am not sure exists, that you are going to be in the same situation everyone else. Buy a second chip for back up.

Agree with SilverS4, get the spare ECU. After warranty, sell the extra ECU for more upgrades.

Default Mods are actually encouraged at BMW

.......unlike Audi, where the dealers just don't say much. After all, Dinan often operates from within the walls of bimmer dealers.
